Fellow blogger and friend Kristin LaFlamme and family came to visit this weekend. It's such a sweet pleasure spending time with a kindred spirit... talking about anything and everything... comparing observations... offering support. This, plus meeting her husband, seeing her kids and watching our families blend is the kind of stuff memories are made of.
Today was a hike I've not done for years. This one a "must do" if you ever come to Maui:
We shared meals... watched "Baby Mama" - which wasn't half bad... tasted dragon fruit and sips of lemonade which made our mouths pucker... watched the kids play as kids do... and made a fresh batch of flubber. Not only that, the cat got more love than it has in a looong time, I tasted an atomic fireball - once was good enough, and my computer got a quick fix thanks to Kristin's tech savvy husband!
Having people visit, touring around, I realize Maui is a pretty cool place to live. Something I'm sure I forget in my day to day life... we all do that, wherever we are..I'm guessing. I can only hope that someday we'll go to her island and play some more! How lucky I am to have made a friend through a shared passion of making quilts. I'm certain if I never sewed again, we would still have something to talk about.

This makes me so happy!
Thank you for a wonderful weekend AND for writing my blog post for me (I think I'll just link my readers to you since our pictures look quite similar). Just kidding. We had a great time getting to know you guys better and exploring your beautiful island.
